Since the beginning of lock down, Stanley and Neacol have been stretching their skills daily and have been really adoring the results. As they grow as artists they are pushing outside of their usual forms to try new and exciting concepts.
Munny blanks have appealed to the couple for years and until now they have not had the confidence to attempt them, even though many of their glass heroes have approached them before. These works create a bridge between their loves of glass as a medium and the designer toy industry as a community.
This figure represents their departure from strict Munny form while still using the body style. Skull Kids have quickly become a favorite.
This one in particular was sculpted live during Bling Squared's take over of the Designer Con Instagram account. You can check out the video replays at www.instagram.com/designercon
This sculpture starts with a transparent emerald base plate and features a Skull Kid in a black business suit and two tiny birdie friends. His body and head are sculpted separately and joined in the torch.
His head is sculpted in white and features a skull face with nose, teeth, eye socket and brow details. He has a tiny blue bird friend perched on top sculpted in transparent aqua with a white tum, gold beak and our signature blue eyes.
His body is sculpted in black with suit lapel details, white 'shirt' and bright red tie. He has white hands, one of which is raised to support a tiny yellow bird sculpted in transparent yellow with a white tum, gold beak and our signature blue eyes.
He himself is sculpted in opaques, but the nature surrounding him; the flora and fauna; twinkle with the magic of the natural world.
Approx 3" tall.
